YAK Agency returns to Dakar (SEN) for the Olympic boxing qualification tournament "Boxing Road to Paris".
Following the success of the 2020 edition, from September 8th to 15th 2023 the ring of the Dakar Arena saw 235 athletes from 42 countries competing in 13 weight categories, including 7 for men and 6 for women. The goal was to secure one of the 18 coveted Olympic qualification spots for the African continent.
This competition marked the second chapter of a long journey, consisting of five continental tournaments and two final world events, all aimed at selecting the top 248 boxers in the world who will have the privilege to compete at the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024.
YAK Agency played a crucial role in managing the event's communication, handling press operations, the press office, and relations with international media. This responsibility was entrusted to us thanks to our longstanding collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) which, since 2019, has assigned YAK Agency the task of managing communication before, during, and after all boxing qualification events, first for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and now for the new Olympic cycle leading to Paris 2024.
The next exciting chapter of this adventure will take place in Hangzhou, China, during the Asian Games. In this context, the best boxers from the Asian continent will step into the ring to try to earn their Olympic quotas.
